SKT and Ericsson jointly announced that they had completed end-to-end testing of 5G independent networking on September 15. 

The two companies tested everything from mobile phones to wireless base stations to core devices using 5G systems.

SKT says the connection speed has doubled and the data processing speed has tripled compared with the 5G non-independent networks currently in use. At present, SKT has become the first Korean telecom company to implement pure SA 5G technology, and has announced that it will achieve the commercial use of 5G SA in the first half of 2020.
