On November 24th, 2020, during the 11th China Satellite Navigation Conference, the "Satellite Navigation and Mobile Communication Collaborative Development Forum" jointly sponsored by Telecommunication Development Industry Alliance (TDIA), National University of Defense Technology, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China Mobile Shanghai Industrial Research Institute and Academic Exchange Center of China Satellite Navigation System Management Office was grandly held in Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center. The theme of this forum is "Opportunities and Challenges Facing the Collaborative Development of Satellite Navigation and Mobile Communication", and the forum attracted more than 120 experts and scholars to attend.

The forum was chaired by Jin Yidun, Deputy Secretary General of TD Industry Alliance, and Professor Sun Guangfu from National University of Defense Technology. Cai Lanbo, Executive Chairman of Scientific Committee of China Satellite Navigation Annual Conference, attended the conference as a guest. During the conference, relevant research institutes and well-known enterprises in the industry gathered together, including China Academy of Space Technology, 54 China Electric Power Institute, China Mobile (Shanghai) Industrial Research Institute, Highway Science Research Institute of Ministry of Transport, National University of Defense Technology, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Xiamen University, Army Engineering University, Huawei, ZTE, Datang Mobile and other units/institutions. The navigation enhancement based on LEO communication satellite, global navigation enhancement system based on LEO communication and Internet constellation, collaborative positioning network, Beidou-Tiandi collaborative PNT network, electromagnetic environment positioning in communication and guidance integration, the standard of 5G high-precision positioning technology, and the application of Beidou +5G are discussed in detail. The forum was targeted to jointly discuss the opportunities and bottlenecks of the integration of mobile communication technology and satellite navigation, and jointly promote the coordinated development of satellite navigation and mobile communication, so as to adapt to the huge application market in the future digital economy.

This forum discussed the opportunities and achievements of the integration of mobile communication and satellite navigation in an all-round way, and reached a consensus on the necessity of the integration of satellite navigation and mobile communication. The integration of mobile communication and satellite navigation can improve the synchronization accuracy and reduce the overall cost, and the realization of satellite navigation application cannot be separated from the support of mobile communication technology. In the future, there will be higher requirements for time and location, and the integration of satellite navigation and mobile communication will provide new services for smart cities, smart manufacturing, smart agriculture and smart homes.
