On September 3, Guangdong Mobile aligning with Guangzhou Railway Group and Huawei Company jointly launched the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong 5G coverage project. Announced that by the Spring Festival in 2020, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong will establish high-speed railway section of the entire 5G coverage, to build China and even the world's first "5G + intelligent high-speed railway."

In order to achieve 5G coverage of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway, Guangdong Mobile will invest 150million yuan in special funds to deploy more than 300 5G signal transmission points along the high-speed rail line.  Relying on the 5G network, Guangdong Mobile will also work with Guangzhou Railway Group to explore 5G innovative applications, create wonderful 5G services for passengers, and provide efficient support services for station management and railway operation, such as intelligent command and dispatching, safety operation management and so on.
