On March 6, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China held a special meeting on accelerating 5G development to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on speeding up the construction of 5G networks, data centers and other new infrastructures. Chen Zhaoxiong fully affirmed the contribution made by the telecommunications enterprises in promoting the construction and application of 5G network, strengthening communication service guarantee and big data support services for epidemic prevention and control, and using the new generation of information and communication technology to help resume work and resume production and suspended classes without stopping school during the epidemic prevention and control period. 

Chen Zhaoxiong pointed out that as a key new infrastructure to support the digital, networked, and intelligent transformation of the economy and society, 5G not only plays a prominent role in helping to prevent and control the epidemic situation and resume work and production, but also has great potential in stabilizing investment, promoting consumption, helping to upgrade, and cultivating new momentum of economic development. It is necessary to focus on the complexity of the current epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development situation, fully understand the importance and urgency of speeding up the development of 5G, scientifically grasp the new situation and new requirements facing the development of 5G, and pragmatically promote the development of 5G.

First, speed up network construction, do a good job in epidemic prevention and control and resumption of work and production as a whole, conscientiously implement the requirements of accurate prevention and control at regional levels, and speed up the pace of 5G network construction.
